We kayak and canoe on the dramatic tidewaters of the Kennebec estuary and the bold rocky coast. Using kayaks or our powerboat, "Endorfin", we fly fish (and spin fish) for stripers in waters that range from mirror smooth flats to waves surging on the rocky points . We often mix hiking into the kayak trips. Overnight camping on pristine islands is available on kayak trips or supported by powerboat. Your guide, Oliver Dominick, has a PhD in biology and is a lifelong outdoorsman and veteran fly fisherman. Each trip is laced with his knowledge of natural history and regional insight. Our name honors the indigenous "people of the dawn land" here, the ABenaki, and their profound understanding of the natural world. KENnebec was their name for the vast river that defines our area. And the tidal lower section of this river, its estuary and its mouth, they knew as the SagadahOC. Ab-ken-oc is our aspiration to enhance your appreciation of the natural world through learning adventures on land and water.
